As master photographer for LIFE Magazine for more than 40 years, Gjon Mili (1904-1984) traveled the world, photographing artists, dancers, philosophers, celebrities, writers, and musicians. His pioneering stroboscopic photography was often used to capture images in theatre and dance. Among his most famous works is the collaboration with Pablo Picasso for the ’Picasso is drawing with light’ series.

Albanian contemporary video artist Yllka Gjollesha and actress Suela Bako explore the œuvre and life of this exceptional artist by interviewing companions of Mili’s life and his career and witnesses of his way of working – translating his photographic language into a documentary around his photographs.
