AN INVITATION TO SAVOUR ALBANIA’S CULTURAL HERITAGE

Gjirokastra charmed me almost immediately, upon my first steps on its cobbled streets. It is therefore for me a personal pleasure to have the opportunity to express my admiration of this city, and to call for its rigorous preservation. Cultural heritage is the voyage of our ancestors, of former generations; it is their creative endeavours to adapt to their surroundings, to regulate relations between themselves, to defend themselves, to thrive and prosper, to rise above circumstances of nature and man.
